About H.H. Swami Buddhatmananda Saraswathi Ji

H.H. Swami Buddhatmananda Saraswathi was born in Singikulam village in the district of Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu (S/O Mr Sakthivel Achari and Mrs Arumugam Ammal). Within a year of Swamiji’s birth, their family relocated to Kerala, where Swamiji received formal education and spent his entire childhood. Swamiji was similar to any other child until he was nine when he performed his first Puja. Growing devotion and consistent worship of the Lord through dedicated Puja for seven years transformed Swamiji’s nature from a playful child to a unique young child who spent most of his time at temples, in Prayer and in Puja. The difference was seen in Swamiji’s behaviour and performance in school as
well, as he was awarded for good character during his study from classes VI to X It was during this period of life when Swamiji developed a liking towards Sannyasis, of whom Swami Vivekananda was his favorite.
As though to further fuel his inclination towards Swami Vivekananda, one of Swamiji’s teachers in school presented him with some books written by Swami Vivekananda. Swamiji ensured he read them all with utmost devotion and sincerity which helped him imbibe many virtues and noble qualities. One crucial aspect that attracted Swamiji a lot was serving everybody around him with love and a spirit of serving the Lord. Swamiji’s service mentality drew him towards an ashram near his village, which Swamiji 2 often visited after his schooling. The regular visits to the ashram inspired Swamiji to take the path of renunciation, and soon, he became a Sannyasi.
In 1999, Swamiji joined the Ramakrishna Mission and served there for around three years. In 2002, Swamiji joined Narayana Ashram Tapovanam in Thrissur, where he spent nearly six years doing a lot of serves and gaining abundant ‘anta Karana shuddhi’ during the period. It was in 2009 when Swamiji met his Guru, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswathi of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam. Swamiji was attracted and inspired by Pujya Swamiji’s wisdom, grace, and compassion and joined the Vedanta course at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in 2010. Swamiji studied under Pujya Swamiji till 2013 when he completed the course. In 2012, as part of the course, Swamiji was reinitiated into Sannyasa and named H.H. Swami Buddhatmananda Saraswati by his beloved Guru. Swamiji is presently staying in Tirunelveli as Acharya of Srimath Parasamaya Kolari Nathar Aaddenam. This math is a very old one. It started in AD 647 and is now 1376 years old. Swamiji is now this math 39th Peedathipathi. Swamiji has dedicated his life to the welfare of mankind, spreading the Indian culture, and serving humanity as a service to the Lord and his revered Guru Pujya Swami Dayananda ji.
